Capoeira Basics Cord Levels

Light green is given to all new students who have not participated in a batizado. A student has 0 to 6 months of training. |

Dark Green is the cord a student receives at his or her first batizado. A student has at least 6 months of training. |

Yellow and Light Green. A student must remain at this rank for at least 6 months. |
 |
Yellow and Dark Green. A student must remain at this rank for at least 6 months. |
 |
Light Green and Light Blue. A student must remain at this rank for at least 6 months. |
 |
Dark Green and Dark Blue (Graduado). A student must remain at this rank for at least 6 months. |
 |
Yellow (Graduado). A student must remain at this rank for at least 12 months. |
 |
Yellow and Light Blue (Graduado). A student must remain at this rank for at least 12 months. |

Yellow and Dark Blue (Graduado). A student must remain at this rank for at least 12 months |
 |
Light Blue (Estagiario). A student must remain at this rank for at least 12 months |
 |
Dark Blue (Monitor). A student must remain at this rank for at least 24 months |

Green, Yellow and Blue (Professor) this rank requires a minimum of 9 years playing Capoeira. |

Green, Yellow, Blue, and White (Mestrando) this rank requires a minimum of 10 years playing Capoeira and a minimum age of 25. |

The first level mestre must remain at the green/white rank for at least 10 years. He or she must also be older than 26 years of age. |
 |
The second level mestre must remain at the yellow/white rank for at least 10 years. He or she must also be older than 36 years of age. |
 |
The third level mestre must remain at the blue/white rank for at least 10 years. He or she must also be older than 46 years of age. |
 |
The grand mestre must be at least 56 years of age. |
